A Lifetime of Yesterday's Update 10/3/24
From the Chapter on my sister, Karen.
......
All the while, my sister was forging ahead. As a young girl, Karen had the same enthusiasm to live, explore, and share. Karen knew long before the doctors or any of us she wouldn't win this battle and turned up the gas to live as much as possible in the days and months that remained. She approached her life with the same energy and resilience as a child up to the moment she passed. The same enthusiasm…the same "get it out" of living, the "get your life out" never subsided in her. Getting that life out before getting the cancer out seemed most important to her. Her love of life, her son, and her family kept her engine running on overdrive.
Karen always had the look of "hope" on her face. It was ingrained and easy to see. I have only seen it in one other person in my life. That person is my two-week-old grandson, Thomas. He has had the same look since being born. I am sure it is the same as the aunt he will never see but feel exponentially throughout his life.
Peace,

Here is what I am doing: I am sharing a snippet of my writing for the book A Lifetime of Yesterday's. It may be a short paragraph or a page. I am due to have my book done by the end of the year. The whole book will be rewritten in 2025, and it will be published in early 2026. Have fun with it. Share it, and leave your email so you can follow my writing. CF
